Louisbourg is situated along the eastern shores of Cape Breton, one of Nova Scotia's most unspoiled stretches of the Atlantic coastline on the Fleur-de-lis trail which begins at the Canso Causeway and ends at the magnificent Fortress of Louisbourg.

Your hosts Joanne and Ward invite you to share their home and local knowledge while you immerse yourself in the unique history of the surrounding community which has been welcoming travelers for over 250 years. Explore beautiful beaches at Kennington Cove or stand beside the ruins at Lighthouse Point, site of Canada's first lighthouse. Either way you will need more than just a day!

The Spinning Wheel is the closest bed and breakfast to the Fortress of Louisbourg, so leave the car with us as you will need the walk after out legendary "Skip lunch breakfast". We will help you plan your whole day at the Fortress, there is much to see and do then take a stroll into town for an evening meal or entertainment at the Louisbourg Playhouse.
